This 3-day adventure begins and ends in Arusha, led by our knowledgeable driver guides who are committed to making this an unforgettable journey. For the best chance to witness the Great Migration, this tour is recommended from late December through March.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha/Moshi to Ndutu in Serengeti

Start your adventure with a 6;30 AM pick-up from your Moshi hotel. Your drive to Ndutu will take about 6 hours (260 km) through scenic landscapes that change from forested hills to sweeping, grassy plains as you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival in Ndutu, you’ll enjoy on a half-day game drive, with a stop for a picnic lunch. The Ndutu region is renowned for hosting the Great Migration from December to April. During this time, millions of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope migrate through these lands, creating one of nature’s most spectacular sights. From mid-January to February, you may even witness calving season, attracting predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. By evening, we’ll head to your selected accommodation, where you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared dinner. Get a good night’s rest to recharge for tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 2: Ndutu to Ngorongoro/Karatu

After an early breakfast, set off around 6:20 AM for more game drives in the Ndutu area. With packed lunches, you’ll spend the day surrounded by incredible wildlife, from graceful gazelles to big cats in their natural habitats. By mid-afternoon, around 3 PM, you’ll journey onward to your accommodation in Ngorongoro or Karatu. A delicious dinner and comfortable rest await you, preparing you for the final day of your safari.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour & Return to Arusha/Moshi

An early start on your final day brings you to the Ngorongoro Crater, a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site. This immense caldera, with a depth of over 2,000 feet, is home to an astonishing array of wildlife. A 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will give you a close-up view of animals like African elephants, black rhinos, hippos, and lions. After a scenic picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool, we’ll begin the climb out of the crater. You’ll return to Arusha in the late afternoon, around 5 PM, filled with unforgettable memories and photos to cherish.
