Day 1: Arrival in Arusha & Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Morning:

• Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO): Arrive in Tanzania’s northern gateway, Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be met by your guide.
• Transfer to Tarangire National Park: It’s about a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants and distinctive baobab trees.

Afternoon:

• Game Drive in Tarangire: After checking into your lodge or camp, head out for your first game drive in the park. Tarangire is known for its high concentration of elephants, which can be seen bathing in the Tarangire River.
• Wildlife Viewing: You’ll also have the chance to spot giraffes, zebras, lions, and numerous bird species, including the rare and colorful lilac-breasted roller.

Evening:

• Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge: Relax and enjoy dinner at your lodge or camp after your first thrilling safari day. Many lodges offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

Morning:

• Breakfast at the Lodge: Have an early breakfast and prepare for the next leg of your journey.
• Morning Game Drive in Tarangire: Head out for a morning game drive in the park. Early morning is a good time to spot predators such as lions and leopards.

Late Morning/Afternoon:

• Drive to Ngorongoro Crater: After your morning game drive, you’ll travel to Ngorongoro Crater, which takes about 3-4 hours, passing through scenic landscapes of highlands and farmland.

Evening:

• Check-in at Your Lodge: Once you arrive at Ngorongoro, check in to your lodge, which is typically located on the crater rim or nearby.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – Full Day Safari

Morning:

Evening:

• Return to the Lodge: After a rewarding day, head back to your lodge for dinner and rest. You may even enjoy a sunset view from the crater rim.

Day 4: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

Morning:

• Breakfast at the Lodge: After breakfast, prepare for the drive to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most famous national park.
• Scenic Drive: The drive to Serengeti takes about 4-5 hours, passing through beautiful rural landscapes, including the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Afternoon:

• Arrive in Serengeti: Once you reach the Serengeti, enjoy your first game drive in this iconic park. Serengeti is known for its vast savannahs, dotted with predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, along with massive herds of wildebeests and zebras.
• Lunch at the Lodge or Picnic: Depending on your location, you can enjoy lunch at your accommodation or on a game drive.

Evening:

• Dinner and Overnight in Serengeti: Check-in at your Serengeti lodge or tented camp. Serengeti has a variety of accommodation options, ranging from luxury lodges to tented camps. Relax and enjoy dinner under the stars.

Day 5: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

Morning:

• Early Breakfast: After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. The park is vast, so this is your chance to explore different regions of it.
• Morning Game Drive: During the morning, look for predators, as they tend to be more active early in the day. You’ll also likely see large herds of wildebeest and gazelles, which support predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Afternoon:

• Lunch in the Park: Stop for a packed lunch at a designated picnic spot, perhaps near a waterhole where you can watch wildlife drink.
• Afternoon Game Drive: Continue your exploration of Serengeti. If you’re visiting during the migration season (typically from July to October), you may witness the incredible wildebeest migration, with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving through the park.

Evening:

• Return to Your Lodge: After a full day of safari adventures, head back to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Serengeti to Arusha & Departure

Morning:

• Morning Game Drive: Enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. Early mornings are often the best time to see predators hunting or animals at the watering holes.
• Breakfast at the Lodge: Return to the lodge for breakfast.

Late Morning:

• Drive to Arusha: After breakfast, drive back to Arusha (approximately 5-6 hours) for your return flight. On the way, you’ll pass through the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley.

Afternoon/Evening:

• Arrival in Arusha: You will arrive in Arusha by late afternoon or early evening. If your flight is later in the evening or the following day, you can either transfer to a hotel for the night or head straight to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.

• Best Time to Visit: The best time for a safari in Tanzania is during the dry season, from June to October, especially for the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
• Packing: Light, neutral-colored clothing (khaki or beige) is recommended. Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a camera with a good zoom lens.
